The Famous MIT Sodium Throw
One of the oldest and perhaps the best known sodium dropping traditions involves MIT students
and a certain bridge over the Charles river in Cambridge Massachusetts. Of course the date
and exact location are secret and probably change every year for security reasons, but I have
obtained actual video of this event direct from a participant, known to me only as "Deep Throw".
Without further ado, here is the incriminating evidence:
Small (4.9MB) QuickTime (mov)
Large (12.3MB) QuickTime (mov)
Small (2.9MB) Windows Media (WMV)
Large (26.2MB) Windows Media (WMV)
As you will see if you watch this video as well as mine, "Ha HA!" is the standard thing to say
when the sodium hits the water.
