The Famous MIT Sodium Throw

One of the oldest and perhaps the best known sodium dropping traditions involves MIT students and a certain bridge over the Charles river in Cambridge Massachusetts. Of course the date and exact location are secret and probably change every year for security reasons, but I have obtained actual video of this event direct from a participant, known to me only as "Deep Throw".

Without further ado, here is the incriminating evidence:
  • Small (4.9MB) QuickTime (mov)
  • Large (12.3MB) QuickTime (mov)
  • Small (2.9MB) Windows Media (WMV)
  • Large (26.2MB) Windows Media (WMV)
  • As you will see if you watch this video as well as mine, "Ha HA!" is the standard thing to say when the sodium hits the water.
