Half-melted cube.
This shape started as a carefully cast perfect one-inch cube of gallium. It was left in an un-air-conditioned room on a summer day, and because the melting point of gallium is only about 86F, it partially melted. (As of this writing, the shape is a deformed, slumped cube with a rounded pool at the bottom. But if this building has suffered an air-conditioning failure at some point after this text was written, it could well have slumped further or melted into the watch glass. In that case we will know for sure whether we selected a watch glass large enough to hold all the metal or not.) .
