Xenon
A heavy, unreactive noble gas present in trace amounts in the atmosphere. It not completely inert forming a number of exotic compounds with fluorine.

Xenon has a few tricks up its sleeve for a supposedly inert gas. Its propensity to form compounds with fluorine is mentioned in the general description of this element. This actually happens quite easily, simply by mixing the two gases and leaving them in sunlight. Less well-known is xenon's anaesthetic properties, although this is more likely to be down to physics rather than chemistry per se. The distinguished neurologist (and lover of elements) Oliver Sacks reports feeling distinctly woozy after taking in a breath of xenon.
