Option 2 : 300 lakhs

**Given:**

A rich man purchased a 12 floor building

He sold 1/6 floor at a profit of 20%,

1/3 floor at a loss of 10%,

1/2 floor at a profit of 7.5%,

Overall profit is 9 lakh rupees

**Formula used:**

S.P - C.P = profit

S.P = C.P × (100 + profit %) /100

S.P = C.P × (100 - loss %) /100

**Calculation:**

Let the cost price of 12 floor building be Rs. x

So, the cost price of 1/6 floor building = Rs. x/6

So, the cost price of 1/3 floor building = Rs. x/3

So, the cost price of 1/2 floor building = Rs. x/2

Now, S.P of 1/6 floor building = Rs. x/6 (120/100) = 12x/60

⇒ S.P of 1/3 floor building = Rs. x/3 (90/100) = 3x/10

⇒ S.P of 1/2 floor building = Rs. x/2 (107.5/100) = 43x/80

So, total S.P of building = 11x/60 + 3x/10 + 43x/80 = 249x/240

Given profit = Rs. 9 lakhs

S.P - C.P = profit

⇒ 249x/240 - x = 9

⇒ x = 240 lakhs

Required selling price = 240 × (125/100)

Hence, S.P = 300 lakhs
