Ivan Petrov (2)

Ivan Petrov of the Materials Research Laboratory at the University of Illinois kindly arranged to allow me to use the extensive facilities at the U of I, which is a national collaborative center for materials testing, and asked his colleague Jim Mabon to determine the composition of my artificial knee joint and tungsten samples. (The tungsten was in fact tungsten, but the knee was aluminum, not titanium as I had hoped. Oh well.) I guess he took pity on me and donated the following very pure samples.
